THE REVOLUTION ISN’T COMING WITH THAT LOOK UPON YOUR FACE

Band I was in in high school ‘DRUMAGEDDON’ where we destroyed a drum set and fucked around inexpertly with a turntable… was thinking of this song the other day. My bro wrote some great lyrics for our show intro:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A pillow stuffed with gleaming knives
A shoe sole lined with nails
And a match inside your gas tank
In your car upon the rails
Is it coming?! Yes, it’s coming
And the driver’s fallen ill
And now they’re jumping from the dining car
And running for the hills
Because they’re waiting, watching up there
In their satellites of love
Until the day that God will rain his burning wrath
Down from above
“Oh no, my people” He will say “Now, in your cities made of glass
This aggression will not stand, you see, these things will never last”
But it’s a dream, it never happened
So we’re left here without meaning
And the anchor to the bottom
Is the lightness of our being
So please tell me, Mr. Listener, where did this anger get you?
The wine has turned to vinegar, it’s starting to upset you
But we dropped the panacea somewhere in North Vietnam
And Marvin Gaye’s at your front door, he wants to know “What’s going on?”
LOSE YOURSELF IN ROCK AND ROLL AND SOUND AND LOVE AND BASS
THE REVOLUTION ISN’T COMING WITH THAT LOOK UP YOUR FACE, YO. GET DOWN!
