Charlie Kaufman is the infamous mad scientist screenwriter of such films as ‘Adaptation’, ‘Being John Malkovich’ and ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’. He also wrote a novel, ‘Antkind’ about film critics. I haven’t read it, but from this piece it seems really interesting. A takedown of narcissistic critics who have beef with anything that challenges their worldview. “The days of flag-planting, of claiming ownership are done. From here on in, I will submit to great art.”
Reminds me of the inaugural piece in my favorite magazine, THE BELIEVER. A magazine of all things indie, especially literature.
