Elon Musk buying twitter has me thinking of a review I wrote of a Philip K Dick novel for Cyberpunks.com- THE THREE STIGMATA OF PALMER ELDRITCH. The fact of being a human being is that we are all addicts to our favored distractions, delusions, hopes & truths, and visions of the future. So why might it be a super bad idea to make a hero out a person who can literally control the future of our planet, species, and reality? Whether they are worthy of contempt… or even if they are a laudable, noble individual with compassion for all life?

Meh, anyway, I’m sure you’ve all thought it out, and the guy who wants to make the exploitative inequalities of our history repackaged and looking bright and shiny and fun for a new era has nothing to gain from the perspective of our literature, and the greatest minds of science fiction. The shoulders of whom Musk stands upon to see further than others, while grinning like a disrespectful shit eating – shit taker, who, as Ian Malcolm puts it ‘has found his dad’s gun’. Wisdom exists, and it is plentiful. I just don’t think it will ever come shining forth through the arrogance of one titanous living statue crushing us all beneath its dead feet.
Well, at least he’s rich.
